Diamonds from the Rough

Greenside traps are large and deep

A more aptly named course you’ll rarely find

The par 4 uphill 16th just might be the cruelest hole on the planet

Over 7000 yards from the tips, but very accommodating to the big club

Beat the 150-marker on the short uphill 14th and you’ll have achieved something

Playing around the pond at No. 7 is much more difficult than it appears from the fairway

Scrumptious sandwiches at the turn put on a mayo clinic – but indulge too regularly and they might land you there as well

The road up to the clubhouse provides some lovely glimpses of the course

The Silk Road to China could have been paved with these fairways

Greens are lightning, though ball-marked

Rough cushions more than tangles
